Forest School

Every Tuesday, Chris leads our Forest School sessions for our younger children. On Thursdays, Amy from Rooted Forest School visits to take our older children out to “the woods.” During these sessions, the children cook over the fire, build dens, play games, listen to stories, climb trees, sing songs, and, most importantly, have fun.

Forest School offers a rich, hands-on learning experience that supports the whole child. It helps to develop gross and fine motor skills, balance, and coordination, while encouraging teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Spending time outdoors builds confidence, resilience, and independence, allowing children to take safe risks and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. It also strengthens their connection with nature, fostering respect for the environment and promoting emotional wellbeing, creativity, and a lifelong love of outdoor learning.
